SUMMARY OF NAGM OUTING AT YELLOW SANDS – EAST LONDON

Firstly, thank you to those of our members (5) who attended the NAGM and also a thank you to Laager 9 for supporting Laager 7.

The main big THANK YOU of appreciation must go to Laager 18 for their outstanding organization and well managed weekend with unbelievable catering and entertainment.  WELL  DONE!!  Also for selecting a perfectly maintained Venue for the Event.

The weekend started off on Thursday evening with us of Laager 7 sharing an Introductory evening at Areena Caravan Park Restaurant enjoying Fish and Chips and glass of wine for R60.  Thank you to the Gouws’ and Watsons for arranging this event.

Friday went off pleasantly enjoying the arrival of fellow Trekkers from other Laagers and  a Welcome Evening enjoying Prego Rolls under the Awnings with Laager 18’s resident DJ Charlie.

Saturday was a busy day which started with a hearty breakfast through to games,  hikes, oyster hunting, sandcastles etc, then build a burger lunch with fresh oysters as hors d’oeuvres.  Not to forget watching rugby.

The Official business was held in the afternoon with all in attendance and the standing President and Committee were all re-elected back into their positions.  The enthusiasm of these committed people makes you feel proud to be a member of Trekkers.

Saturday evening started off with a superb roast dinner with unbelievable side dishes which was then followed by the DJ providing entertainment and assisting with Lucky Draw prizes.  Dancing in the Park continued until late.

Sunday morning started with Laager 9 & 7 providing breakfast,  which then followed on to Indaba which was very interesting and entertaining.

A few photographs are attached for your interest.

Looking forward to seeing you at the next Outing.

L21 - Millers Point 6th - 8th Sept

Club | News
Miller’s Point Municipal Caravan Park is located 5 km south of Simonstown on the road to Cape Point. The campsites are located in such a way that one has uninterrupted views across False Bay, and direct access to the small but tranquil and beautiful beach below. Views from the road above are of impressively large boulders along the coastline, sheltered swimming areas which include beautiful turquoise to blue waters and secluded nooks. At times, the beautiful water looks more like they belong to some far-away tropical island!
